Beaches:
The most well-known of the local beaches is the up-market resort of Les
Sables d’Olonne, but there are plenty of other safe, sandy beaches with Life Guard
supervision.
The Forest of Mervent:
Just down the road, on the way to Fontenay-le-Comte,
is the beautiful Forest of Mervent, with its Adventure/Outdoor Centre, water sports,
cycling, lakes, nature trails and bird life.
Ponies, Bicycles and Horse-Drawn Caravans:
Enjoy
cycling to picturesque, hidden places? The South Vendée holds the secret. Or do you
fancy a more gently wandering pace of life? Horse-drawn caravans or carriages or
outings on horse-back are all available.
